HI-FRAME is an innovative project that promotes Open Science culture change at UZH and, in this regard, contributes to the implementation of the UZH Open Science Policy.
The project is supported by the federal program P5 Open Science (SERI, swissunviersities) for 2 years (September 2021 - August 2023).
The overarching objective of the project is to develop and pilot a tailor-made and flexible framework that systematically incorporates Open Science activities into the evaluation of candidates in professorial hiring. To achieve its main goal, the project has the following specific objectives:
Hi-Frame’s 24-month project lifetime ended on 31 August 2023. The project’s overall aim was to anchor Open Science practices systematically in UZH’s professorial hiring processes on the basis of a broad understanding of academic excellence.
These issues go to the core of academia and academic institutions, which is why an EDI (equality, diversity, inclusion) perspective on reforming research assessment is so important, and Hi-Frame effectively highlighted the intersection between the Open Science movement and the EDI agenda in the higher education.
Going forward, the experience with Hi-Frame will feed into the implementation of the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment, which UZH signed in 2022.
